Don't pay the ransom I've escaped

So Willard have you been enjoying the house to yourself?

It's been a long time since I had 5 minutes to myself, I went to work full time, so my free time is spent cleaning the house and running to the grocery store.
While I was taking these pictures Bailey ask "why are you taking more pictures of me I have the same smile as last time," all I could do was think just how much she has changed over the years, form a toothless grin to missing teeth and now with all her teeth again, how quickly kids change even if they don't think so.

ASU Grad

Willard you should be so proud of Patrick, he walked arcoss the stage and picked up his diploma, he didn't trip or fall down or anything, it was great.

All the tests, homework, and driving down to campus might be over but now the hard work begins, real life, a job, bills all the good suff you have waited for all your life. . .

Please someone send me back to school, those where the days!! Ice Cream for breakfast, I only had to wash my own clothes, didn't have to scrub any toilets, bought a new eight track tape every week, it was fun, not work to wash my car, stayed out as late as I wanted and lets see I was making the big bucks $4.25 an hour.

Bird watcher

Hold on there Willard those bread crumbs are for the birds.

Bailey made a bird house at Home Depot on Saturday and brought it up to my house, then the rest of the day and all day Sunday she watched out the window, sprinkled cracker crumbs, then made a trail of bread crumbs for the birds to follow so they could build a nest in the new bird house, she got so excited everytime a bird got close to the bread crumbs or the bird house and if her numbers are correct we had just over a million birds in the yard over the weekend. I love how she used the middle of the bread (ever kid knows that's the best part)

On the Road again

I miss him too Willard, but think of it this way, now you have your own room!

So Trevor came home from his 2 year Church Mission on Feb. 17 and now he's driving cross country to work for the summer. I know it's a good think for him and I did tell him to go, after all when is he ever going to be more young and free than he is now and he'll be able to see some sights and do things he would never be able to do if he stayed in Phoenix, but man I miss him.

Here is where they will be dirving today and finishing up the trip.

Clean baby clean

Willard it's 2am why are you still up?

I fell asleep on the couch the other night, (which I seem to do a lot), when I woke up around midnight, everyone had gone to bed the t.v. was on some strange movie and for a minute I didn't know what day it was (I hate when that happens)so I got up put away a few things and before I knew it I was cleaning my house, I almost vacuumed but decided it might wake someone up. Around 2am Willard came down to see what I was up to, I'm not sure but I think he check his watch for the time, anyway we talked for a while then he went back upstairs I heard him scratch on one of the doors so I went to see what he wanted, turned out Patrick's door was shut so Willard couldn't get into bed, poor baby, I opened the door, noticed Patrick wasn't even home. Remember when you were young and liked staying up late? Oh well . . . I went to finish cleaning, funny how much you can get done in the middle of the night, no one to bother you, or phones to answer, this could become a habit.

How do kids grow up so fast?

I was telling Willard the other day how cute he was when he was little, . . . he just looked at me.

I went to Bailey's first baseball game on Wednesday, she looked so cute all decked out in her new uniform, her hat pulled down so she could just see out, her hair in braids, that made her easy to pick out when she was out in the field. When it was her turn to bat none of us could take our eyes off of her, she even got a hit. It was so fun to watch a bunch of seven year olds play for the first time, I couldn't help but think of Trevor and Patrick playing ball when they were little. Trevor was so small he always got the number 2 jersey, which worked out nice with his initials being T.W.O. So after a while he picked the number 2 before anyone else could get it. One of the first games Patrick played in he rolled the ball to the first baseman after he figured out that the poor kid just couldn't catch it. We had a lot of fun made some friends and got a good tan too. Soccer, baseball, football, basketball, practices, games and fundraisers, then throw in a bunch of golf, ah.... those were the days, no wonder I was crazy, but somehow watching my grand daughter play, all I could do was wonder where the years went.

I don't want that job

Willard, you should have seen the dam workers.

On our way to Cedar we crossed the Hover Dam just like we have a hundred times, but this time there was a helicopter flying so close to one of the high voltage power lines that it graped our attention, then when we looked a little closer we saw a man in a basket cage kind of a thing hanging from a line attached to the helicopter, then if that wasn't enough he snapped himself to one of the power poles and the helicopter took off. I don't know which is worse working on high voltage power lines or having to hang from a line and blowing in the breeze to get to your job. Oh and just one more thing, these guys are going to have to get picked up when they're finished, or maybe they'll just take the stairs down.

I'm not as old as I could be

Hey Willard how old do you think I am? . . . don't answer that.

Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered who was looking back at you? Today while I was brushing my teeth I caught a glimpse of myself and then did a double take. . . man I'm old and just when did my eyebrows get so low? and what's up with all the wrinkles? and those age spots, boy who'd a thought I would get old, It seems to me I look more like my mother than myself.
