After the rain

The rain went away and the spider climbed out to see what we were up to, the sky was overcast but no more rain was in sight so we left the spider and went to take a few pictures. I couldn't believe that not one of these kids came close to getting wet. I always enjoy being around such a cute little family. Thanks R . . . .

Water magnet

While I was taking pictures of B... her little brother made a beeline for the water and took a swim in the lake, Lacie had to wade in to pull him out, then he was mad because she ruined his fun. We hadn't planed to take any pictures of C... but he was just too cute all wet. After we got him back to Lacie's and she gave him a bath I had a chance for a wet eyelash picture. Carin Davis gave me the idea, she is an amazing photographer form SLC click her name to see her wet eyelash pictures

Toothless smile

Another birthday and another year older. It was hot outside but we had lots of fun, her little brother had the most fun (more on that later) B. . . tells me when to take the pictures and how many, she cracks me up. And just why is it that kids look so cute with missing teeth?

On to Book 2 (more vampires)

Ok so you guys were right ... it is a good book, and a fast read. So far I do like it and I'm even looking forward to December for the movie.

Second time is the charm

If I didn't like the music of Abba so much I might have walked out of the movie Mamma Mia, I had a hard time with the casting what were they thinking? Only Amanda Seyfried who plays Sophie has any business singing, she is young and pretty and has a beautiful voice. Lacie and I laughed the hardest when Pierce Brosnan tried to sing, now mind you I knew he was in the movie I just assumed he wouldn't be singing, he has guts that's for sure. I have seen Meryl Streep sing in some movie with Greg Kinnear and she can make her way through a song or two. By the time the movie was over all I could do was shake my head and ask "what was Tom Hanks and Rita Willson thinking when they produced this movie". Now here is the strange part I didn't really like the movie and trashed talked too, but I couldn't get it off my mind, I did like the story line and the music, so when a couple of friends said they hadn't seen it and wanted to, I decided to go again, I have no idea why but I did.

The second time was a charm for sure, I really did like it a lot, maybe because I wasn't expecting a true musical and was able to have fun and just enjoy and laugh at the movie. By the end I was ready to go out and get a 70's garb, practice up on my Abba and find some more friends to go the movie again. I'm sure Lacie will think I'm crazy but I plan to buy it when it comes out on DVD.

What's up with these books??

I first heard about the "Vampire books" about a year ago at the family camp out in Utah my sister in-law Wendy was reading a book she couldn't seem to put down, when I ask what it was she couldn't believe I hadn't heard of them after all the author is from Phoenix she said. Then she starts to tell me the story line and I make a mental note to NOT read the book I mean Vampires, really I'm not into scary vampire stories, then I realize I said it out loud because Wendy says "it's not like that, it's a love story" I'm think humm... right. After we got home from camp some sort of food gate had opened and it was Twilight this and Bella that and what do you mean your not reading them. Lacie was the first to cave in when a good friend told her they really are good, so half way through book one and she had her sister at the book store. As far as I can tell I'm the only one who hasn't been bit. Lacie decided to come up for the weekend, her husband had to go for his weekend of guard duty, and it's our way of having some girl time, see a movie or play with the grandkids. Lacie put her kids to bed, and didn't get into her own p.j's which is not like her, here is where the plot thickens, she started trying to convince Patrick to "go for a ride" with her, turns out Borders is very close by and as luck would have it someones new book would hit the shelf at 12:01 Aug. 2nd and who wants to stand in a big ol' line by yourself, so off they went. There was a big line and wrist bands to go with it Lacie was number 280 something and the line was going nowhere, only a few people had their books and now another line was forming to pay for the book. Patrick is getting fidgety by this time after all it's just a book not a video game. They decided to leave the store and see if by any chance Walmart has the book, so off they went, walked into Walmart, went back to the books, where a nice lady was just making a nice stack of nice new books, they picked up a book, used the self checkout and they were out of there, then for the fun of it they drove past Borders to see the big line going nowhere. Book in hand and home in less than 30 minutes. Now Patrick and Lacie have a bet on what sells the most copies Breaking Dawn or Maddon's Football video game. As for me the question is will she or won't she read the big fat vampire books.
